The goal is to take advantage of the scientific

Ms. Clinton stated at the State Department Thursday that climate change is a leading health problem facing all countries around the world.

“Millions die annually from constantly burberry jeans breathing in black carbon soot that comes from cookstoves in their own homes, from diesel cars and trucks on their roads, from the open burning of agricultural waste in their fields,” said Ms. Clinton.

The goal is to take advantage of the scientific research amassed by the United Nations Environment Program and scientists around the world that shows that some of these pollutants can be captured and used for clean energy sources.

The former first lady made the announcement Thursday at the State Department, with representatives from countries that will be the first to take part in the new coalition.

There were reps from Mexico, Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, and Sweden, and the U.S. hopes to attract more countries in the future.

The U.S. and Canada have already pledged $15 million towards the new global initiative over the next two years.

Those investments will be used to help nations implement environmentally sound practices such as lowering their emissions of diesel exhaust and capture methane, among other actions.

“This coalition allows us to build on efforts that are already in place. For example, we’ve worked through voluntarily – voluntary partnerships like the SmartWay Partnership and the National Clean Diesel Campaign here at home to help make engines on our roads cleaner,” said EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.

One of the roles of the new Climate and Clean Air Coalition will be to spread practical ideas for that the international community can contribute to the goal of preventing climate change.

Methane, soot and hydrofluorocarbons are believed to be the three leading short lived pollutants currently contributing to carbon dioxide.

Some of the common sources that emit methane include landfills, coal mines, rice paddies and more.

The coalition’s goal is to prevent global temperatures from rising by one half of a degree by the year 2050, and to reduce occurrences of lung and heart disease arising from short lived pollutants in the atmosphere.

“The nations represented here today have made strong progress, and I’m pleased that the international community took steps in the right direction at the climate conference in Durban,” said Ms. Clinton.

The United Nations recently agreed to form a global climate change treaty by 2015, at the “conference in Durban” that Ms. Clinton is referring to.

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition is a move towards speeding up the process of finding more solutions to prevent climate change, as scientists believe that irreversible atmosphere damage could occur prior to 2015, The New York Times reports.

Recent studies show that air pollutants in some areas of the world are more deadly than they are in other areas.

Air pollution in South Asia accounts for more than 500,000 premature deaths annually, according to Hasan Mahmund, Bangladesh State Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The U.S. and the other countries represented burberry shirts for women at the State Department event Thursday will look to continue to expand the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to all corners of the globe in the near future.

He got to play most of his first round at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club after the worst of some fierce winds had calmed down and sneaked in a birdie at the 18th hole by chipping in from 35 feet just before it was too dark to play anymore.

For his efforts, Mickelson owns a one-shot lead after his five-under par 66 and all the momentum there is to have in golf.

Last Sunday, Mickelson routed Tiger Woods by 11 strokes on the final day at Pebble Beach when the two ended up in the second-to-last group. Mickelson also won the tournament and is trying, for the fourth time in his career, to win in consecutive weeks.

"It was a challenging day today," Mickelson said. "Fortunately, the greens were somewhat receptive …so even though the wind was challenging, it was still a fair test."

Mickelson, who has won the last five times he held part of a first-round lead in a PGA Tour event, is a shot in front of Hunter Mahan and J.B. Holmes, who each shot 67s.

Play was suspended at 5:42 p.m. because of darkness with 30 golfers still on the course. That included Troy Matteson and former champion Rory Sabbatini, who were among a group of eight tied for sixth place at two under.

Also in that group was Spain's Sergio Garcia, who had a loud and enthusiastic following. Garcia, who hasn't won a PGA Tour event since the 2008 Players Championship, finished his two-under round of 69.

Many players spoke about the ferocious winds that changed trajectories and made golf balls do the jitterbug even on the greens through much of the day.

Luke Donald, the No. 1-ranked player in the world, shot a 70, played early and said, "This morning it was freezing, blowing a gale and it was not easy."

K.J. Choi, who is in the group at 69, said, "I woke in the morning at 4:30 a.m. and outside the window there were palm trees like this." Choi did a bending motion with his arms to indicate how the palm trees were leaning.

Mahan, who said "the wind was humming pretty good" when he woke up Thursday, said it was fortunate that the course was in "perfect shape." He said the wind had calmed down during his final seven holes, which, for Mahan, were the final seven holes of the front nine.

But it was Mickelson who was the star.

He said he thought he had earned a little luck with the chip-in on the 18th hole because he should have done better on the two previous holes. Mickelson bogeyed the par-three 16th and missed a 10-foot birdie putt on the par-five 17th.

"It wasn't one I was trying to make," Mickelson coats for women 2012 said of his final stroke of the day. "It was quick, it was downhill and I had to play four or five feet of break, so it's not one that you're trying to get aggressive with. I was trying to get good speed…I got fortunate that it went in."
