Obama collected $21.3 million in his campaign account in February, not counting millions more he has raised for the Democratic National burberry ties Committee. Houston homebuilder Bob Perry, a veteran Republican financier who helped fund Swift Boat attack ads against 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry, donated $3 million to Restore Our Future last month, nearly half the amount the group raised.

Republican donors "are either trying to resolve the nomination fight faster by helping Romney knock out his opponents or they consider the nomination fight resolved and they are aligning behind the person they think is the burberry handbags outlet winner," said Richard Briffault, a campaign-finance expert at Columbia Law School.

Restore Our Future collected $6.4 million in February alone, according to a report filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission. A pro-Gingrich super PAC raised $5.7 million, with $5 million coming from casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and his wife, Miriam. By contrast, the super PAC created to help President Obama, Priorities USA Action, announced that it took in $2 million last month — half of which came from a single donor, television host Bill Maher.

Campaign reports were due by midnight Tuesday. Texas Rep. Ron Paul reported raising $3.3 million in February and collected nearly $34.4 million for the entire election cycle.

Santorum raised $9 million in February, bringing his total for the election to nearly $15.7 million.He reported having $922,448 in debt and repaying himself for a $20,000 personal loan to the campaign.

Obama has collected burberry sneakers women more than $172.7 million since January of last year — a sum that swamps his Republican challengers, but falls shy of the $193.7 million he had raised at this point in the 2008 election, federal data show.

The president's campaign has implored donors to give. In a recent e-mail to supporters last week, campaign manager Jim Messina warned that Republicans "have groups ready to spend hundreds of millions of dollars."

Obama's "challenge is to persuade his financial supporters that it's not too early to give money," Briffault said.

Obama's team said it is working to register voters and encourage 2008 supporters to turn out again. The campaign had $84.7 million in the bank.

The Obama campaign reported spending nearly $3 million on online advertising, its biggest February expense, and another $2.1 million on salaries.

Restore Our Future has raised more than $43.2 million since Ray ban sunglasses the start of last year. In all, 14 donors gave more than $100,000 each to the super PAC.

Those big donors include Univision television network founder Jerry Perenchio, who gave $500,000, along with Dallas industrialist Harold Simmons and Chicago hedge fund billionaire Kenneth Griffin, who each donated $100,000 in February. Earlier this month, Griffin told the Chicago Tribune that the wealthy have an "insufficient influence" on politics and should play a bigger role in elections to protect "economic freedom."

Simmons hedged his bets, also donating $100,000 to the pro-Gingrich super PAC Winning Our Future.

Major payday lending companies and their owners also contributed nearly $250,000 to Restore Our Future in February, burberry cap men a USA TODAY analysis shows.

Romney, who has taken heat for touting his friendships with the owners of NASCAR and NFL teams, saw another team owner support the super PAC backing his campaign. J. Wayne Weaver, CEO of the Jacksonville Jaguars football franchise, donated $25,000 to the committee last month, filings show.

Super PACs, which can raise unlimited sums from wealthy individuals, unions and corporations, have been big players in the 2012 election, spending more than $78 million in last-minute advertising and automated calls to influence contests.

The Republican National Committee, which www.egalass.com will aid the eventual nominee with advertising and get-out-the-vote efforts, said it raised $11.3 million in February and has $26.7 million in the bank.
